I’ve got to say, I’ve really been blown away by the support I’ve been getting, along with, Gerry, Brian and the gang, for Deadpool: The Gauntlet. People really seem to like what we’re doing, and where the story’s heading, and they really seem to be responding to the digital format that we’ve been using here. In fact, the ONLY negative things I’ve seen about this comic come from people who haven’t even read it– usually because they’re upset that it’s not a traditional print comic. I know, I know, comics fans upset by something new? Who could have guessed? Ever since I started working on POWER PLAY, one of the things I’ve been hearing A LOT is from people who said that they didn’t like reading comics digitally until they read my stuff and finally saw what the digital platform could really add– it’s not a gimmick, it’s not bells and wistles, it’s a new way of telling a story.  This continues to be the case with THE GAUNTLET. One of the things I see the most in reviews, and one of the things that I take the most pride in, is people saying that they never thought much of digital comics until they read this series. People like it. People who didn’t think they’d like it realize that they do. So, if you’re one of those people who “don’t like reading things digitally,” “prefer a comic you can hold in your hand,” “think it’s just a gimmick,” whatever the excuse, just give it a try. Marvel couldn’t have made it easier for you, because they gave the first issue away as a free download for anyone who picked up the (also free) print version of the comic. You literally have nothing to lose. If you can’t track one of those down, at least check out this free preview of Power Play– http://www.comixology.com/Power-Play-0/digital-comic/12727 . I’ve learned a lot since doing that first issue, but it will at least give you a taste. So don’t be afraid– no one’s going to hurt you! Give yourself the chance to add one more thing to the list of stuff that you like, and cross one more thing off the list of stuff that you don’t. Enjoy! After all, that’s what comics are all about! http://www.comixology.com/Deadpool-The-Gauntlet-Infinite-Comic/comics-series/14912
