Hmm, this is hard to answer without seeing an example, but I’m going to guess that your characters aren’t lining up with the same vanishing points as your environments. The way I solve this problem in my own art is to draw two characters (which are usually the most important aspect of the panel), and then figure out where they line up compared to each other. For instance, if they’re the same height, and their eyes are parallel to each other, I’ll draw the horizon line through their eyes, and then build everything else– the other characters and the background– around that horizon line at that height. And remember, anything below the horizon line we’re going to be seeing from above, and anything above the horizon line we’re going to be seeing from bellow. I hope I explained that well. It’s a hard thing to talk about without visuals! Another possible issue you’re having is that you’re treating your environments like wallpapers– just a backdrop that you use to fill in the space behind your characters. To make the environment more immersive, put your characters in the middle of it– have elements of the environment next to them, below them, in front of them as well as behind them. That should make them seem more a part of the world they’re in. Hope that helps!
